Designed by award-winning interior architecture studio Tom Mark Henry, DOPA Chatswood Chase captures the energy of “motion in design,” a fitting concept for a fast-paced venue. A central counter under a sculptural metal ceiling anchors the space, while a vivid interplay of red, terrazzo, blue render, and glazed brick gives Dopa a unique identity that defies the conventions of traditional food court dining.
At the heart of this stylish eatery is a design-meets-engineering collaboration between NOROCK and award-winning studio Tom Mark Henry: the NRxTMH self-stabilising table base, specified here in the striking Leeuwin Blue colourway. Designed to eliminate the annoying and unsightly wobble found in typical hospitality tables, our patented technology offers seamless functionality without the need for manual adjustment or rubber wedges. The NRxTMH base, our first design collaboration, perfectly complements the fit-out. With its elegant form and refined silhouette, NRxTMH has become a favourite for design-led spaces globally and was even featured by The Local Project.
The choice of Leeuwin Blue, inspired by Western Australia’s dramatic coastline, adds a bold contrast to the rich reds and textural elements throughout the space. The hue not only reflects NOROCK’s connection to the natural world and its Australian roots but also demonstrates how furniture can become part of a larger design conversation.
Since launching in 2019, DOPA has built a loyal following for its refined take on Japanese comfort food. From crispy karaage chicken to delicately prepared unagi don, the dishes are crafted with regionally sourced, sustainable ingredients, another point of alignment with NOROCK’s values around environmental responsibility and long-lasting design.
The collaboration between NOROCK and Tom Mark Henry is a celebration of what happens when thoughtful design meets real-world application. In high-traffic, design-forward venues like DOPA, every detail matters, from the stability of the tables to the story they tell. The NRxTMH base not only supports a plate of food, but an entire experience, one rooted in innovation, style, and purpose.
Whether you’re there for a quick lunch or to linger over a parfait, DOPA Chatswood Chase proves that great design should never sit still — and with NOROCK, it never wobbles either.
