At 570 Bourke Street in Melbourne, the design team at Gray Puksand had bigger ambitions than napkins. Tasked with transforming underperforming ground-floor spaces into somewhere people genuinely want to be, they drew inspiration from Victoria’s natural landscape and created three distinct zones: The Forest (Gresham Street), The River (Bourke Street), and The Mountains (Ramsay Street). The project was shortlisted for Workplace Design at the Australian Interior Design Awards. Deservedly so.
Through intentional design that encourages moments of pause, informal gathering, and quiet retreat, the ground plane is transformed from a simple thoroughfare into a welcoming destination.
