Cibaria is a dynamic new venue at the base of the Manly Pacific Hotel which has reimagined the energy of Italian coastal towns and their love of good food, lively conversation, and shared moments.

We would describe Cibaria’s design as Italian spirit meets Sydney style in a space that feels instantly timeless. Luchetti Krelle has layered the interiors with a rich tapestry of textures and tones: stucco walls, patterned tiles, and handcrafted finishes create a tactile connection to the rustic south of Italy, while open spaces and sunlit corners reflect the Australian coast. The result is an interior that feels both grounded and celebratory, made for gathering, eating, and enjoying.

Every part of the venue has its own rhythm. The Gelateria hums with the casual joy of summer — a place for gelato cones, espresso, and conversation. Step further in and the main dining rooms open up to the ocean, where generous banquettes encourage lingering over long lunches and coastal dinners. Elevated aperitivo seating adds a sense of theatre to the ritual of pre-dinner drinks, while private dining spaces offer intimacy without losing the restaurant’s communal pulse.

Food and design work hand in hand to tell the same story. The menu explores the modern Mediterranean — bright, bold, and seasonal — with dishes to be shared. There’s a sense of performance in the open kitchen, where the preparation of each plate becomes part of the experience.

The craftsmanship extends to every detail, including the furniture. Across the alfresco dining zones and the gelateria’s high tables, NOROCK’s award-winning NRxTMH self-stabilising table bases in Pindan Red provide both beauty and practicality. Their sculptural form complements the restaurant’s rich material palette, while their patented stabilising technology keeps every glass steady — an invisible touch that enhances the effortless hospitality Cibaria is known for.

Recognition has followed quickly. Cibaria has earned a hat in the 2026 SMH Good Food Guide Awards and a Silver accolade in the Better Future Sydney Design Awards for excellence in hospitality design — achievements that reflect both the culinary ambition and the design integrity behind the project.

At Cibaria Manly, the clink of glasses, the hum of conversation, and the scent of the sea come together in one immersive experience. It’s Italian dining through a distinctly Australian lens — vibrant, unpretentious, and full of life.

Hospitality is a tough environment for furniture. The demands of high use for multiple users each day, together with the requirement to be moved around often by staff and patrons at a whim place major pressure on the standard of products. To have a piece of furniture stand up to the test is reassuring. Furthermore, for the product to deliver consistency in providing a solid flat surface across different surfaces makes for an easy choice.
