The 2026 Australian Interior Design Awards shortlist is here, and it's full of projects proving good design is about more than meets the eye. A huge congratulations to every studio and project on the list — and we're pretty thrilled to see NOROCK tables in some absolute knockouts.
While quoting Transformers may seem frivolous, great design is never just about looking good. It’s about working beautifully, too. Form and function. And that’s exactly why award-winning designers worldwide specify NOROCK self-stabilising table bases. We look the part and actually deliver, on any surface, every time. But enough about us (well, not entirely) and over to the shortlist.

Hospitality Design: Where stability meets hustle
Luchetti Krelle’s Cibaria Manly brings the bold, festive energy of Italian coastal villages to the Australian beachfront, complete with our NRxTMH self-stabilising table bases in Pindan Red — because when you’re creating “the theatre of Italian cooking and feasting,” your tables need to hold steady through every enthusiastic toast and shared plate moment.
Over in Fremantle, Foolscap’s Garde Hotel turns a former Police Headquarters into a high-end hospitality precinct. Our Lunar self-stabilising disc bases in custom colours (thanks to NOROCK distributor Innerspace) anchor spaces that honour heritage while delivering contemporary comfort.
Meanwhile, Studio Plenty & Sarah Ellison’s Light Years in Perth is our sneak-peek star (pictured; photo by Dion Robeson). This CBD reimagining features our soon-to-officially-launch Lunar Plus in Dusk Pink, a disc base that’s already proving why this silhouette is having such a moment in interior design right now. Stunning lighting, tiling and a playful warmth… and tables that stay put no matter where you place them.

Workplace Design: Function meets flexibility
Gray Puksand’s 570 Bourke Street transforms underutilised ground floor space into immersive, nature-inspired zones that prioritise wellbeing and community, anchored by our NRxTMH self-stabilising table bases in Pindan Red and Peppermint Tree Green via NOROCK partner District. (And yes, NRxTMH has been absolutely everywhere in education and office projects this year — turns out designers love an award-winning base).
Meanwhile, PAPER’s P25 Corporate HQ reimagines a former food court as a horizontal campus of connection, with Lunar disc bases in White and Sandstone Black supporting the shift from segregated vertical floors to collaborative, open workspace.

Retail Design: When minimalism needs to perform
IF Architecture’s Baker Bleu Cremorne is poetry: artisanal bread as an artistic display against refined minimalism and high-tech materiality. Our Sol self-stabilising cone-shaped disc base in White slinks into their outdoor dining area without a worry.
The disc base era (and why it’s not going anywhere)
If you’ve noticed a theme here, you’re one smart (round) cookie. Disc bases are dominating right now, and for good reason. Our disc bases bring clean lines, maximum stability and endless versatility. Whether it’s our soon-to-drop Lunar Plus making its debut at Light Years, our designer collaboration turned workhorse NRxTMH popping up in projects worldwide, or the eternal favourites Lunar and Sol holding down cafes and corporate spaces alike — disc bases deliver.
And because they’re NOROCK, they also deliver 35+ years of stabilising tech mastery, B Corp certified, accessibility friendly, a 5-year mechanism warranty, and absolutely zero maintenance. Red Dot and Good Design awards don’t hurt either.
So to every designer, studio, and project on this year’s AIDA shortlist: congratulations. You’re creating spaces that work as hard as they inspire. And we’re honoured to be part of making that happen one wobble-free table at a time.
