B Corp Month: Why we’re all in on people (not just tables)

We became a Certified B Corp last year, and March is B Corp Month — a good excuse to talk about what that matters most to us: people.

We care about the people sitting at our tables, the diners who don’t want their coffee wobbling off the edge. We care about the operators and business owners and we value their time and money (no maintenance, no replacement parts, no headaches). And we care deeply about our team, the people who make NOROCK what it is.

Our Co-Inventor, Chris Heyring, has spent 35+ years perfecting stabilisation technology. We know a thing or two about balance. Turns out, that same philosophy applies to how we run our business.

While we’re always asking “how do we get better?” we’re also thinking “how can we do it in a way that best supports our people?” How do we create more stability, not just in tables, but in how we work, how we treat others, and how we show up in the world?

March is B Corp Month, and becoming a Certified B Corp last year was a way to formalise that commitment. So here’s some of the good stuff we do…

 


Growing leaders, not just making tables

Recently, one of our team members completed leadership management training. Because here’s the thing: we don’t just want people who can save the world from wobbly tables (though that helps). We want people who can lead, innovate, and take NOROCK into the future.

 


Holidays for all

Our US team gets the same leave offering as our Australian team. No “but that’s just how it is in America” nonsense. If you need time off, you need time off — regardless of which continent you’re on.

 


Work where you work best

Remote? Hybrid? Fully in-office when you need the energy of the team? We’re not prescriptive about it. Our people know where they do their best work, and we trust them to make that call. Revolutionary? Nah, just sensible.

 


Giving back without the fanfare

We donate to Foodbank because, well, everyone deserves a stable table to eat at — literally. And our team can take a day off each year to work for a charity of their choice. Because stability shouldn’t just be about furniture.

 


Why B Corp matters (beyond the badge)

B Corp certification isn’t a marketing tactic for us. It’s accountability. It’s a framework that says: profit matters, but people and the planet matter more.

We’re a company that makes tables that last. We’re B Corp Certified. We design award-winning products (Red Dot, Good Design Gold, Hospitality Design Awards — yeah, we’re flexing a little).

But none of that means anything if we’re not taking care of the people who make it all happen.

 


The point

Tables don’t wobble at NOROCK. Priorities don’t wobble here either.
