CEO Claire Spalding’s whirlwind tour of USA and Canada: Demonstrating the power of self-stabilizing table bases

In March 2025, NOROCK CEO + Chair Claire Spalding embarked on another trip from 'down under' to the USA and Canada — bringing the brilliance of self-stabilizing table technology directly to those shaping the future of hospitality and design.

From RestaurantPoint West in California to forward-thinking manufacturers in Vancouver, Claire’s itinerary was packed with insightful meetings, inspiring discussions, and hands-on demonstrations — all underscoring NOROCK’s mission to remove the age-old wobble once and for all.

Saving restaurant groups money, time and worry at RestaurantPoint West

One of the highlights of Claire’s trip was attending RestaurantPoint West 2025 alongside our VP of Sales, Martin Bolick. Together, they met with leading operators, specifiers and design and construction teams from some of North America’s top restaurant groups.

Through live demonstrations, Claire and Martin showed exactly how NOROCK’s self-stabilizing table bases eliminate the frustrating (and expensive) problem of wobbly tables — no matter the floor surface.

Why it matters for restaurant chains:

  • Save money: No more wasting staff time trying to fix tables with coasters or napkins — or replacing damaged bases.
  • Save time: Installation is quick, and our bases self-stabilise instantly with no maintenance needed.
  • Save worry: Managers and operators no longer need to stress about poor guest experiences due to wobbly tables or spills and mess.

The reception was enthusiastic. As Claire puts it:

There was real excitement in the room — because operators know this is a pain point, and we’re offering a cost-effective, elegant, engineered solution that actually works.

Our Trail self-stabilizing table base was a standout, earning plenty of attention during the live demos (yes, the Bloody Marys helped prove the point!). Following closely behind was our new Sol cone-shaped disc base, which continued to generate buzz as samples have made their way to excited attendees post-show. We always look forward to RPW — it’s a fantastic opportunity to connect with industry leaders who are genuinely eager to discover innovation.

Meeting the best and brightest

From California to Canada, Claire made it her mission to connect with the talented professionals shaping the hospitality, office and wellness spaces of tomorrow.

Vancouver
In Vancouver, Claire met with the team at ChopValue, a company revolutionising sustainable design by transforming recycled chopsticks into beautiful, functional surfaces. The meeting sparked exciting conversations about sustainability, circular design, and innovation — all values close to NOROCK’s heart.

Washington & Oregon
The Pacific Northwest welcomed Claire with its vibrant community of architects, interior designers, hospitality consultants, and our incredible new reps Kin. These meetings allowed for meaningful conversations about specification processes, local design needs, and how our award-winning designs like the NRxTMH can meet both practical and aesthetic demands.

California
Claire concluded her tour in sunny California, making stops in Los Angeles and throughout the surrounding regions. From boutique interior design studios to major procurement firms, there was clear enthusiasm for products that deliver stability, reliability, and timeless style. Our Lunar and Esplanade self-stabilizing table bases stood out for their elegant aesthetics, while our Terrace flip-top base — ideal for alfresco settings — proved especially popular in the warmer months. Did you know our NOROCK self-stabilizing table bases are built to perform both indoors and outside? With Claire demonstrating at various meetings with restaurant groups and chains in Los Angeles and surrounding areas, you Californians are sure looking to be splitting up with wobbly tables soon!

Looking ahead

Claire’s tour reaffirmed that NOROCK is more than a table base — it’s a better way to do business. Whether saving a restaurant chain in operational costs, insuring the customer experience, or aligning with designers on projects where form and function must work in harmony, NOROCK is proud to be part of the solution.

“Nothing beats being on the ground and seeing that moment of ‘wow’ when we demonstrate our product,” Claire said. “I left every meeting feeling inspired and even more energised about what’s to come.”

As NOROCK continues to grow across USA and Canada, we’re excited to work closely with our partners — new and old — to deliver stability, sustainability and design excellence.
